The Beachwood City School District Board of Education is accepting applications to fill a vacated board seat due to the resignation of Board Vice President Jillian DeLong, following her election to serve on the Beachwood City Council. The Board shall seek qualified and interested candidates from the community through the news media, word of mouth, and contacts with appropriate organizations.
All applicants should submit a notice of their interest in writing to [email protected]. The Beachwood City School District Board of Education shall interview all interested candidates to ascertain their qualifications.
Appointment by the Beachwood City School District Board of Education to fill a vacancy shall be by majority vote of the remaining board members during a regular meeting scheduled for January 22, 2024.
The appointed school board member’s term will run through December 31, 2025. A board member must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, a resident of Ohio for at least 30 days preceding appointment, and registered to vote in Beachwood for at least 30 days preceding appointment.
Candidates must submit a notice of interest to: [email protected]. Each individual who submits this notice will receive an application to complete and submit. The deadline to submit a completed application is January 8, 2024.
